Sr. Test Engineer (Job Number:402923)
Description:
Job Description: Candidates will support submarine communications programs at SPAWAR. The specific support will include testing engineering builds, conducting formal Quality Assurance testing, and coordinating with developers to troubleshoot bugs and test fixes to known issues. The Sr. Test Engineer will be the Subject Matter Expert and work closely with government personnel and contractors to develop procedures, support the development and integration of related submarine communications systems.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience: High School Diploma and 15 years or more experience with submarine communications.
Required Skills: Candidates must have recent experience (within the last two years) with Software/Hardware engineering testing, operational and performance testing of the Low Band Universal Communications System (LBUCS_TTE). This testing must include operations of the associated interfacing equipment including the KG-333, Information Screening and Delivery System (ISDS), Message Distribution Terminal (MDT), NATO inputs, and the SMGL. Candidates must have experience generating test documentation including Software Test Descriptions (STD), Software Test Plans (STP), Security Verification Tests (SVT), and Software Test Reports (STR). Candidates should have recent experience implementing automated testing using Visual Studio Test Manager and the US Navy’s Automated Test and Retest (ATRT) test tools.
Desired Skills:
Test and Evaluation, communications experience, SPAWAR programs, Submarine Communications systems. Systems experience should include a variety of Navy Communications systems including SLVR, ISDS, TFDS, and LBUCS.
