Software Engineer (Job Number:402929)
Description:
A position exists for a motivated individual to provide development and maintenance of applications and/or tools to provide a variety of functions from business applications to custom developed systems.
The software developer duties will include:
- Gather requirements, design, develop and test high-reliability applications, and provide end user support if needed
- Designs, implements, and supports the applications on standard development methodologies.
- Provides programming and database support including web page development and support as well as application testing and validation of results.
- Work with customers in defining and negotiating requirements.
- Develop new capabilities, enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software and database systems.
- Document work and results.
- Manage software application code using version control and problem tracking software expediently and accurately
- Work effectively in an agile software development environment
- Interact closely with customers
Qualifications:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing Java, C# or similar language in framework
- Minimum of 2 years performing Web site design
- Adherence to the project plans and other standards
- Utilization of agile software development approach and toolsets
- Experience using PVCS Version Manager, Subversion or a similar version control system
- Experience producing high quality documentation to match the development projects
- Knowledge of CSS/HTML5, Javascript, JQuery and AJAX
- Knowledge of MySQL and MS SQL Server
- Possession (or have the ability to obtain) a DOE L clearance
